Most people don’t care about helping homeless animals, but this old man is selfless and he has taken matters into his own hands, he feeds homeless cats every day for almost 22 years and didn’t miss any single day.
This man named Willie Ortiz is a kind-hearted, veteran, and scrap metal collector from Hartford, Connecticut. When the weather is bad or if it’s raining, snowing, or has a freezing cold outside, he will still collect scarp metals just to pay for the food and cat supplies.
He cares so much for the homeless cat and he also makes sure that they are spayed and neutered so the population of the homeless cat in the area will decrease.
When the morning comes, the old man drives around collecting scraps to sell, and when the evening comes, he will leave his home with some tins of sardines and cat foods, he will feed the cats and will also check their health. Yes! Willie does not only feed them because he also cares for their conditions if they are iռjured or sic.k and he will quickly bring them into the vet clinic for the medical that they needed.
There was a woman named Kathleen Schlentz who made a gofundme page to help the old man to buy more food for the cats. Luckily it surpassed its target, but if you want to help them in their mission, you can still donate money.
“Presently he feeds 16 colonies of stray and feral cats, a total of 68 cats, every night, 365 days a year, and has never missed a night in 22 years, He makes sure they get what they need to have as good a life as possible.” Kathleen Schlentz said.
When people ask Willie why did he feeds the cat every day he answered this;
“You eat every day, no? You get three meals; they eat once every 24 hours.”
We still need more people who like this man, despite his age he still works just to ensure that the homeless cats have enough to eat. He didn’t think about himself.
We hope that those people who are reading this and believing in Willie will keep donating as much as they can, so the homeless cats will be happy and not worried anymore about their food and other supplies.
