The woman named Angela Ward saw two creatures huddled up together between two portable toilets. It was a Chihuahua puppy and a little kitten. Angela called her daughter named Madison and her friend named Kristin to seek assistance and post the issue on social media because that’s how other animal lovers seek help.
The rescuers quickly went to the location and help the two creatures, they saw a two-year-old Chihuahua who protects a little kitten. They quickly brought them to the veterinarian clinic for their treatment. They name the dog Gomez and the kitten Morticia
After going to the clinic, they were taken to a local shelter took a photo of them, and posted it on the Lost and Found Pets Facebook page hoping to find their owners.
“They appeared terrified in the photograph. We prefer the scared because they don’t understand when you’re attempting to assist them.” Turkan Ertugrul said, director of Saver of Souls Pet Rescue.
After seeing the photos, Turkan didn’t stop thinking about them because they will be separated inside the shelter because shelters prohibit bringing dogs and cats together for safety reasons.
Turkan knows that the two creatures should be together for their psychological health but she was afraid that people will not adopt them together.
Luckily, the shelter said that they don’t want to separate Gomez and Morticia so they agreed to do playdates in a conference room until the two creatures ended up in a foster home.
“Gomez originally raced to the black foster cats, assuming one of them was Morticia, and you could feel her regret when she discovered they weren’t. When he first meets someone, Gomez is shy, but he quickly gains confidence. When Morticia is close, it truly opens up. They are both happier and more open when they are together than when they meet people individually.” Turkan explained.
One day, Gomez and Morticia were adopted together and they are now safe and happy living in their new home where they received lots of love and affection.
