When the senior cat named Odin and its four-year-old friend named Luna were brought to the shelter at Glasgow Adoption Center after their previous owner became il.l that’s why it can’t take care of them anymore.
Odin was afraid to be adopted because of his age. But the shelter took advantage of our Mature Moggies Day last June 16 and they put an appeal in the Glasgow Times for Odin to have a new home.
There was a woman named Helen who saw Odin’s profile and it went stuck on her mind.
“I spotted the piece about Odin and young Luna as I was browsing the newspaper. It was only 10 days after we had said a ṣad goodbye to a much-loved elderly cat. She arrived with me from a cat rescue 19 years ago. We had nursed her through lym.phoma for as long as she still had some quality of life. So, we were still quite raw. The picture of Odin stuck with me and I wondered how he would fare at his age. A couple of weeks later I started checking the Glasgow Adoption Centre website and found that he and Luna were still awaiting adoption.” She explained. .
Helen and her partner Steven quickly called Cats Protection to process the adoption for Odin and Luna, and it didn’t take long, the two buddies are now settling into their new lovely home and loving parents.
“We weren’t really looking to get a new cat just yet but our house felt desolate and when I saw Odin’s picture, I worried he might not find a new home,” Helen said.
Odin was so happy to have a loving home where he can spend his golden years.
“They have both settled in really well and are hopefully as happy here as they were with their other family. Luna, being all-black, is not terribly photogenic but her picture doesn’t do her justice, she is poetry in motion and very engaging when you meet her. Odin is exactly as the centre team described a gentle soul who purrs like crazy.” Hellen explained.
The Senior Cat Care Assistant named Lynsey Anderson was so happy and thankful because Odin and Luna found a happy ending and they are making new happy memories together with their new lovely parents.
We are also happy for the two buddies having their happy ending, and big thanks to the couple who give them a new happy life.
