In Westbrook High School in Westbrook Maine, there was a cat named Simba who spent his two decades together with students and other faculty members. The adorable cat always greets all the students at the door every morning and even visited the superintendent’s office to give love and have some cuddles.
Simba’s story began in 2000 when a math teacher saw the cat and then followed her into her classroom until it decided to stay there. Starting from that day, Simba didn’t skip a day visiting his friends at school.
It feels like Simba already fell in love with the place so he just kept coming back just like it’s his second home. Simba was very close to every student at the school, he will sit next to them when they are doing homework, and when the students are having a meeting, Simba will act like a feline supervisor.
Simba gives so much happiness to everyone in the school, according to them, Simba loves to show up in class, and sometimes it will take a nap on their textbooks. He even gave the students comfort when they are stressed with school work by giving them peace.
The adorable cat became a therapy cat at the guidance office, he also has his very own chair because students asked for Simba at the office.
There were students who wanted to honor Simba for his loyalty to the school by doing an art show where they displayed lots of beautiful art inspired by their beloved feline best friend.
Sadly, Simba passed away at the age of 21, and everyone in the school feels so devastated because their lovely therapy cat is gone forever.
According to Simba’s human mom named Eileen, she was very sure that Simba will be greatly missed by his family and all who shared his big feline heart, she also said that Simba will remain in their hearts forever.
“Thank you for the peace and happiness you brought our students and staff for so many years… we love you and will miss you so much,” Westbrook High School wrote.
Rest in peace adorable Simba! You’ll be missed!
